Position:         IT Technician

 

 

We are commencing a nationwide recruitment offering a number of newly created positions to suitable candidates.

 

Each successful candidate will be part of a local team all reporting to an area manager, the area manager will provide support to the technicians in their team.

For this IT support role, you will need good understanding of computer support, this would include troubleshooting skills.

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT technician to join our team. Are you a dynamic individual with skills in physical repair of computers? Do you have an understanding of all things technical, with superior customer services skills? Then you may well be of interest to our expanding team.

We recognise the need for experience, and we also understand that IT is frequently the domain of the young, and to this extent, we will strive to introduce a wide-ranging apprenticeship scheme; Our aim with this is to have most IT technicians supporting an apprentice, who would be trained and provide assistance to their trainer.

 

We also aim to provide training to enable the apprentices to achieve an IT qualification and to support their chosen pathway to assist progress to their full potential.


 

It is hoped you will have the ability to learn quickly, and troubleshoot effectively being able to multitask while at the same time building a working relationship both with the business and the clients.


 

Candidates will need to be professional, well-presented and also have a friendly manor. It will be necessary for you to interact with clients face to face and over the phone. Therefore, you must be comfortable and confident in talking to strangers. Adapting your approach to clients in order to suit their demographic whilst maintaining our high standards in customer service is vital. Ability to work without supervision and sometimes independently, using your own initiative where appropriate. 


 

Our ideal candidate will need to have the following skills/duties: 


 

  • Teamwork skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Good PC troubleshooting skills & device diagnostics keeping track of your repairs & updating the company's repair system 

  • Liaising with clients regarding their repairs.

  • Working as a proactive member of the team carrying out virus removal, software errors, data recovery; hardware repairs, including replacing damaged hardware; laptop screen replacements; upgrading hard drives, memory, motherboards, modems, routers, graphics cards and all other components on most makes of PC and laptops

  • Setting up networks and router setup; printer troubleshooting. 

  • Building new PC & gaming systems

  • Progression in the organisation is something we support, most senior positions will be allocated from within the current workforce.

  • The company is keen to entertain young talent and on the basis you may be required to have an apprentice as a partner from time to time.

  • The organisation is a keen promoter of the government’s apprenticeship programme.

The diversity of the work throughput normally results in, from time to time, even the most experienced technician requiring support, the area manager is there to help in these areas.

You will need to have full eligibility to work in the UK – no work permit visa available. This position will be dealing with private and business clients and will involve local travel.  You may be required by your area manger to assist other areas (still within the team area) to address high demand.

 

We are open Monday - Fridays and you will be required to work 5 days per week, your working week will be flexible depending upon team commitments.
